SERVICE LINE
Electrical power is transferred from the generating station / substation to the utility center through the transmission line and from there it is distributed through the power distribution line. Power is supplied to the consumer by tapping from the distribution line. Power is supplied to the consumer from the distribution line via an underground cable or through a transmission line. The transmission line is used when there is a distance of more than 45 meters from the distribution line to the place of power supply to the consumer.
Distribution lines of electric suppliers and Consumer , or transmission lines supplying power to the consumer are called service mains. The connection to the service mains is made in the energy meter. Figure 4.1 shows the connection of single phase load from service pole, pole fuse, energy meter, service cue, main switch and fuse and distribution board. Single phase supply in service line of phase wire, neutral wire and earthing wire from supply pole to consumer. The service line for Mr. Phase supply consists of three phase wires, one neutral wire and one adjacent wire from the supply pole to the consumer's connection. There are two types of service lines:.
there are two types of service lines: (1) overhead service lines and (2) underground service lines.
All aluminum conductor (AAC) in overhead service connection | Or aluminum conductor steel Reinforce (ACSR) or hard | Copper conductors are used. (1) The minimum size of a copper conductor is 10 SWG when the load is less than 1 KM. (2) 8 SWG copper conductor or 13.9 MM AAC or ACSR conductor is used when domestic / commercial load is more than 2.5 kW (3) 19.4 mm when power load is 12 kW or more? AAC / ACSR conductor or 6 SPG copper conductor is used. Aluminum or copper cable is used for cable service connection. Under-ground service connection Low tension 3 core cable is used.
Method of installation of service line
1) over hade service line 2)under-ground cable service line
When the incoming cable cannot read through the Babel window and the buzz is high. Although the grain is connected to me, in this case a service protect is to be fastened to the wall) and this wall bracket is attached to a pin or shell type insulator, the insurance of the insulator is based on the income wire
Generally two insulators are used for service connection and four insulators for power connection. The vertical distance between the insulators is 35 cm and the lateral distance is 30 cm, in which the phase and neutral wires are connected from the service pole to the service bracket. The earthing wire is attached to the top of the iron bracket. The service cable or PVC cable is connected to the overhead line using a conductor. When a GI (galvanized ion) pipe is used for this service cable, it is bent at the top so that rain water cannot enter it. In this type of connection the height of the building should be sufficient to connect the wires to the gable.
service connection for low roof or single stored building
stored building: When the height of the building is low, the power conductor is not spaced from the ground as per IER (Indian Electricity rules) so the service bracket is not connected to the direct wall. In these circumstances, roof connection is made.
The roof pole is made of steel tube with a diameter of 60 mm / 80 mm / 90 mm and insulators are mounted in its arm. The height of the roof pole should be less than 3 meters, otherwise the tensile stress is increased. The roof pole is constructed with the support of a steel rope to reduce this tensile stress. If possible the roof pole is constructed with the main truss of the roof construction
When GI pipe is used it is kept at a certain height from the roof. The lower end of the GI pipe is clamped and the service cable is connected to the upper end.
service connection by weather proof cable
When there is a two-story building, the cages are fitted with reeds. the PYC cable is well connected to the service board and then to the service board.
service connection by use of junction box
The Thane junction box is used for one house of service connection to another house. from the connection pole to the Junction box, and then the supply is given to each house from the box,
